As England goes back into lockdown tomorrow, we wanted to share our thoughts to help you cope with the difficult weeks ahead.
However challenging life may become, remember, we’ve done it before, and we can do it again. If you find yourself getting stressed or anxious, remind yourself that we will get through this. Even if it doesn’t feel like it at the moment, things will get better.
We can learn from last time. Try not to put too much pressure on yourself. There is no pressure to learn a language or read a book or do a million and one workouts. Take time for yourself. Listen to your body and do what is right for you.
Limit the amount of time you spend watching, listening to, or scrolling through the news.
Identify ways to cope with your stress and anxiety. And use the strategies every day.
Try to keep a routine.
Exercise your mind and body. Whether it’s going for a walk or doing an online yoga class, exercise can help your physical and mental health and wellbeing. Instead of worrying about the future, focusing on the present moment is a great way to distract and rest your mind.
Stay connected and keep talking to friends and family. If you would like to talk to someone about your IBS, we are here.
Remember, you are strong enough. And more than anything, be kind to yourself.
If you need us, we are here.
Take care and stay safe
