Colonic hydrotherapy
Colon hydrotherapy, sometimes known as colonic irrigation, is a technique for clearing and cleansing the bowel. Many people who suffer with constipation, abdominal bloating and trapped intestinal gases find it useful.
It involves inserting a single-use, sterile tube into the rectum and gently infusing approximately 70 litres of water into the bowel. Salts and herbal tinctures are added to the infusion to relax or stimulate the bowel. Although a few instances of bowel injury have been reported, this is a remarkably safe technique when administered by a trained and registered practitioner. We would strongly recommend that when considering having colon hydrotherapy, you access a qualified, insured and registered practitioner.
