Launching our IBS Awareness Month campaign
29th March 2023
To mark IBS Awareness Month next month, we are launching a new campaign to raise awareness of the integral connection between mental health and IBS.
The new campaign, Positive Steps, focuses on the relationship between mental health and IBS, offering advice and information on how to adjust the diet and improve poor mental health symptoms that can lead to an IBS flare up.
We are launching the campaign after seeing a rise in the number of our members struggling with flare-ups triggered by stress, anxiety and poor mental health. Not surprisingly, the rise comes after we have all been through the last traumatic few years with the pandemic, war, natural disasters and the cost-of-living crisis, all of which have taken their toll on people’s mental health.
Throughout April we will be sharing advice and information on IBS and stress, anxiety and mental health.
As part of the month, we will be running a webinar programme with sessions on CBT, stress and mental health. You can find out more about the webinar programme here.
If you would like to share your experience of managing your IBS and mental health during these turbulent times, please email liz@theibsnetwork.org We would love to hear from you.
